M103 IS GOING DOWN THE IMU HALL OF FAME!
19 out of 194 passed GI. and the mean grade is C- which is 45-49%. and wait a min...the 19 who passed includes the repeat students, which means technically, all of us failed! yeap, failed big time! but then again, somehow when everyone around you have failed, the significance of failing is no longer there. you don't feel sad or motivated coz you'll think that it's a norm to be failing the paper. now, if IMU was smart enough to see that, they'll set an easier paper so that the graph won't be biased to the left. so that those who failed will know that they have really FAILED and will buck up. or then again, maybe it's just us M103s being not bright enough. oh whatever.

If you ever have some weird lesion/growth on your body, and the doctor you're consulting whips out a camera & takes a picture of it, you know you're in DEEP trouble. they're most probably going to put it up during lectures for medic students like us to see how bad a pathological condition can be. and all of us students will go 'YEEEWWWWWWWWW' in unison. i bet the lecturers get a kick out of that. but then, the 'ohh-ing' and 'ahh-ing' only existed during CVS course. by the time we came to GI, i think immunity towards these revolting pictures has set in. except today, when they showed a picture of a girl who had a super large gash on her thighs and butt coz she was squating on a toilet bowl meant for sitting. the seat couldn't take her weight and she fell into the toilet bowl. the rest of the story on how she got cut by the ceramic sides of the toilet bowl is up to your imagination.
and for the daily facts...
ergonomics: the science to seek a working condition that suits the anatomical, physiological, psychological and working limits of a person
glucocorticoids is used together with beta agonist to decrease tolerance in the case of asthma.
stimulating factors for megakaryocyte production are IL3, IL6, TPO and MK-CSF.
Cromoglycate is good for kids with asthma but it can only be used prophylactically.
PRCA is caused by repeated infections from Parvovirus B19.
my brains is a hodgepodge of confused facts now...

GOD HAS SPOKEN
It has been a long time since He had spoken so clearly. and it feels like a wave of relief that suddenly my life is back to a definite direction again. there is a season for everything in life, and if only I'd obey Him & give up the Isaac in my life like what Abraham did, I'll see things fall into place. but of course, giving up and letting go takes effort and a whole lot of faith. yea...really...it's a whole lot of faith involved here...
i still hate kids. as much as i tried to like them, i still failed. spending time in the childcare centre of YMCA didn't help. i had this urge to give the kid who whacked Bobby a good scolding. but i got to admit, some of them are pretty cute. this boy, Kenneth, and this girl Chu Min. one moment they were snatching a jigsaw puzzle, another moment, Kenneth was blowing kisses at Chu Min.

i don't like happy endings...
i'm not a sadist, i'm not a cynic, i'm just a realist. come on, how many real life stories end up with 'happily ever after'? maybe that's why i'm the only person i know so far who didn't really enjoy Shrek2. and i don't believe in love at first sight either, which explains why i didn't appreciate movies like moulin rouge and romeo&juliet. my definition of good endings: best friend's wedding, the devil's own, troy.
i'm letting go
yeap, i declare defeat in the game to chase after things that were never meant to be. maybe it's a self defense mechanism to protect myself from further hurt and disappointment. but really, when you know that it's never gonna happen and all you had all along were false hopes, you suddenly come to the realization that you have been living in fantasy land. moving on to the daily facts of the day...
clofibrate can cause gallstones although it lowers VLDL production
the superior recurrent ulnar artery continues as posterior recurrent ulnar artery (wait, is that right?)
the axillary artery pierces the clavipectoral fascia (or was it another artery?)
something is seriously wrong with my brains. i can't remember facts as well as i used to. my mind can't even make up its own mind now. i've lost focus in my studies. and i'm starting to miss home. and i've started binge eating again. and i've just realised that my blog is starting to sound like one of a depressed person, which really, i'm not.

on an all-time caffeine high...
3 cups of Nescafe the day before, 4&half hrs of sleep, tea in the morning, and moving on to a whole flask of hot coffee...i'm on my way to a cardiac arrest due to ectopic beats and a brain infarct. i really don't like sleeping, it's a total waste of time. imagine if you don't need to sleep to feel refreshed. you'd have a minimum of 40hrs extra in a week!! if someone came up with this super drug that can cause you to be 24hrs awake and eliminate the neccessity to sleep, the whole world will kau-tao to him i bet. except for tim and su-ann maybe who has been officially diagnosed as having CFS.
the curse of civilisation
stuck in KKB without electricity with the temp running 35 degree celsius outside is one of the last things you'd want to happen. then there was that water crisis in Vista for one whole day without even a drop of water from the tap. can't even pee cos there wasn't any water for flushing.
Neil Gaiman&Terry Pratcher wrote in Good Omens about this devil who cut off the electrical supply of a whole city just to create chaos among men. he must have jolly well succeeded in it.
considering the fact that finals are 3&half wks away and i've not even finished my sem2 work, i should really make good use of my time other than blogging about insignificant stuff. from now onwards, every blog entry should include some daily facts.
lignocaine is a class 1B drug used to prevent arrhythmias after an MI.
vegetations in NBTE has a special predilection for the valve closure lines.
verapamil cannot be used with propanolol for fear of cardiac depression.
if i don't pass my finals, it'll be another 2 mths of hell
pain detected in thalamus coming from viscerals will cause vasoconstriction.
use adenosine, digitalis and verapamil for SVT.
if i don't stop blogging now i will never be able to finish studying what i planned to finish today.
foam cells are lipin-laden cells.
brain dead...where's my coffee flask??
