woohoo! my first Sunday Service in THE GATE and i get to witness a wedding. was really quite something. there was a short Bible reading before the couple said their vows and it was recited by this really cute Black kid. everyone was cheering and clapping when he hopped onto the stage. oh and there was this other small boy clad in kilt playing bagpipes. and there were many people who were blowing bubbles into the air in the sanctuary. and get this - the bubble bottle they were holding is shaped in a wedding cake!
the service was great! felt pretty much at home. it felt like a combined service back in ECF coz there were youths, families, old people and the songs we sang were not as 'rock-ish' as in SNL. to my surprise, they really know how to worship here too! haha, ppl were jumping, clapping, raising their hands. even the old people! lena suggested we can lend our 1AM Revelation CD to them and maybe they'll sing some of 1AM songs. now wouldn't that be great?! woohoo!! the 1AM ppl back home will be jumping in joy!
didn't get to meet many of the church people though coz it was really crowded with all the wedding guests. will do so next week. oh and the church building is old...ancient....historical. Lena said the toilet seats are wooden. so imagine how long the church has been there. right got to go for my first class in Dundee.
