Went down to Duncan of Jordanstone School of Arts (still think it's a very gaya name for a building) to check out the Arts Degree Show 2006 over the weekend. It's where the graduating batch of the uni of Dundee Arts faculty exhibit their final year project. Was brilliant! And it's not just the usual weird paintings and sculptures that you normally get in an arts exhibition, but it's a whole lot more like animation, industrial textile design, jewellery design, innovative media etc etc. And all the sudden, Medicine seems like the most boring thing in the world to do. Heh, oh well, it's two totally different fields after all. One of the guys in my church was an animation student and he produced this short anime clip on the story of David and Goliath.



Was superb! and he got a first for it. Talk about honoring God in every aspect of your life! There was even a short description of his work on the website promoting this degree show, about how he wanted to show that Christianity is about freedom, contrary to the misconception that it is all about rules. Was really good how he managed to capture elements like bondage, fear, freedom, God's power and courage in that short clip.


Having my ophthalmology test in 1 hrs time. Pray it goes well. Oh and this is the well known test that they actually put up your marks for everyone to see at the medical sch office. Heh...talk about the importance of patient confidentiality, what happened to medic students confidentiality? But oddly, I'm feeling quite at peace about the test. Don't think the marks matters much anyway as long as we learnt our stuff.

Went to the Dundee Blind and Partially Sighted Society yesterday. We had to pair up and take turns being blindfolded (yeap...totally blindfolded, no cheating) and being led outside of the building into the busy streets, with only our partner's arm to hold on to to guide our way. Was quite an experience. You can't see a thing, but you can hear the busy road and the cars going past and people walking past you. And you've only got your partner's arm to hold on to. I kept feeling as if I was going to bump into something so I kept stopping abruptly, and WoeiLin (the person i paired up with) had to keep saying: don't worry! there's nothing in front of you! just trust me!
Heh...he did do quite a good job guiding me, down and up some curbs, slopes, doors. But that few minutes when I was walking forward in total darkness, not knowing where I'm going, only having an arm to hold on to to lead me, reminded me of the way how God leads. You don't really know where you're going, but you've got to put total trust in him to guide. And at times, you keep perceiving as if there're obstacles, and you keep stopping in your tracks due to that fear of obstacles, but God is saying: just walk on, trust me! And at the end of the day, it is that total trust in God that brings you through, isn't it?
